Tech House Challenges/Prompts

Anyone have a good list/resource for song prompts/production challenges? I have seen a few very generic ones, would be nice to have one specific for tech house. Let me know your thoughts!

Here’s one I made up with some friends:

1 sample challenge:

  • Get everyone to agree on a sample (I think we used an 808 tom the first time)
  • make a sample based track that’s at least 2 mins long using only this sample and plugins native to your DAW
  • everybody has a week to do this. Everyone sends their completed tracks to a neutral 3rd party, which then renames files and distributes them to an independent judging team to determine best track.
  • best track creator is shared and s/he gets to show project files and show everyone how they made their song. Everyone learns something, everyone wins!
  • best track creator gets to pick the sample for the next contest

Are you in some sort of group? We did this in my old production WhatsApp group. I left.

Yes! I invited a lot of people from the Country Club Disco Community group on Facebook, join the group and search for me (Casmalia) and you can join our challenge for this year!
