Nothing more satisfying than doing a 20 minute premium mission over the mountain in literally 1 minute.

I have just started setting up my zip lines around the mountains too! Do they deteriorate while I am offline? I read they are high maintenance.

mitch13815•

I think they do deteriorate offline, but they should last a few good weeks. Which is probably enough time to get your use out of them until end game.

they should last a few good weeks

Weeks? That's fricking amazing!

achio:baby: BB•

Yes, the HP bar of those are enormous.

18
ShinyBloke•

I think structures will last about a week if you don't repair it, also once shit breaks down it's just alot easier to dismantle and rebuild, I rebuilt a bunch of stuff for other people last night, made 2 way stations in areas, set up some shelters and ziplines. :)

It's cool when you first log into the game after a day or 2 and see just a mile long of likes and such. I got 8k likes! at once.

10
inyruiFragile•

i went from 8k likes to 67k in just two hours from simply building a road and taking out a mule camp near the road so everyone could go through without being harassed. the most helpful i have ever felt

yank000•

How long do roads last

2
jobzy•

Also a little thing I learned about ziplines (and I think any structure) that if you upgrade it the durability is reset. Upgrading ziplines from 1>2 is quite cheap.

6
Timpstar•

But tier 3 upgrade makes them last even longer if I recall correctly. So many things to choose from.

1
Suvaius•

I went out of my way to set up some zip-lines in the western mountains, but after a day or two no one had liked them :'(

1
stvxcddPlatinum Unlocked :redditgold:•

Possibly because people have set ziplines/other structures up in the same positions, within your server, before you did, therefore yours will never show up in other players' games.

1
xenopizza•

same here. Ive been leaving ziplines across mountain and hill peaks, hopefully it will make other peoples life easier, those mountains are rough!

2
kappaweng•

Do you have any idea on ranking S on the 300kg 20mins premium mission? I tried ziplines back and forth ASAP (for Mountain region) and still get a B (7mins)

1
neko259Cliff•

Roads are still a thing when you need to do 1000 kg of cargo in one trip. I started placing ziplines but I still build the roads to so I can drive trucks safely.

Iccarys•

There are no roads around the mountains between the paleontologist, evodevo bio, and heart man tho. That’s why zip lines around those area are the best

11
neko259Cliff•

Sure ziplines are great for some places, I'm already connecting everything. Ground is lava!

Can’t wait to see Ziplines ...

1
neko259Cliff•

They are a bit overhyped. There are no autoroutes for ziplines (or I haven't seen any) so you have to choose the destination manually and it's a pain when there are many. I built several lines to get to the cosplayer cave and I have to make a tricky turn to reach it, every time we forget how to do it cause you have to go to side then a little further than down than back. And you cannot use compass eighter when hanging on the zipline so choosing route is all about map or memory. Also someone built a bridge in the middle of my zipline so I had to make a detour line.

dat_boi_100•

Finally an actual good variant of a format

21
akippon:baby: BB•

No thanks.

I'd rather walk and climb. ✋

15
MichNeko•

Yeah, sometimes I decide to leave all the roads. vehicles and ziplines behind and just walk there, enjoy the walk.

5
avyon•

Zip lines are fast but boring, walking is slow but immersive.

10
GoldenGekko•

As zen like as it is to just walk. I can't deny the efficacy. I had fun traversing the mountain range from one mission giver to the next, connecting one zip line at a time. Sometimes there would be ones already there and I'd connect them to mine.

Sirius707Higgs•

I'm really thankful for every zipline of other players that i able to integrate into my zipline-net as it saves me precious bandwith.

Same af

Archelaus_V•

I actually connected my whole world with zip lines - I did the mama mission in under 5 minutes. The worse zip lines to set up were around the robotics staff women to the doctor. I was scaling mountains!!

Or, as we call it in rural areas, the internet

Friendship ended with roads.

Now ziplines are my best friend

3

The zip lines are the way to go.

2

Amen

2
Amberqq•

I can't help but feel like the ziplines ruined the pacing for me though. I basically blazed through the mountains with them and, while it was cool to be so efficient, it felt a bit hollow compared to my earlier deliveries :\

benv138Bridge Baby•

But isn’t that only if you’ve already been through there?

That’s one thing I think the game does really well

6
Tontum•

The mountains see a lot of back and forth for a time.

5
benv138Bridge Baby•

Yeah it’s at those times I’m most thankful for zip lines. Walking in the snow is brutal

I feel the same way. I try to avoid using them because it makes everything way too easy, you just fly around mindlessly. It's almost like a cheat to the game. Only good for grindy missions etc where you just dont want to bother travelling

1
Suvaius•

Lucky with the player links, i suppose. I had to set up my own zip lines everywhere

1
Amberqq•

I set mine up all over too. Basically ran around with 4-5 PCC2s at a time lol

1
RainbowSpecter•

Any advice on bandwidth efficiency? I keep running out :/

2
PrintShinji•

Be sure to get a better status with every person/shelter you can get. The higher your liked the more bandwith you get.

3
Chief_Blazemore•

Great advice. Also try to plan your locations in advance. Pop down from a zip and look through your compass where you can maximize both height for accessibility, and the distance should be as close to 300m (or 350m if you're willing to upgrade) as possible. Then pop a marker and do the same from that location. A well planned route takes a little more energy but can save you at least one or two lines.

Also, you can hop off a zipline mid flight, so if your line is low enough that you can drop without taking damage, you can place two lines on either side of a location you frequent and avoid having to build an additional line.

Edit: spelling

For some reason the only ziplines in my strand are my own. I'd love to see others' work.

wasting so many resources to get the roads paved.

I don't want to think about the implications of a BB having an odradek and a BB.

Dude I just got done making a zip line system in the Eastern Region XD

1
KernelChunkybits•

Never really used them as i'd only begun to see them at the mountains- to -Endgame and even then they weren't hooked up to any others. How useful are they suppose to be?

1
R0538UDPre-Order gang•

They've been lifechangers for me in the mountains, you should at least have one zip line connection between paths to make your life easier, climbing a mountain in a matter of seconds without losing any stamina is the best.

2
dracosuave•

They're how I got my Timefall Farms to 5 stars without even trying.

1
xnfd•

You have to backtrack across the mountains so many times, so it's useful to build out a zipline network as you're going.

Mayhaps they're ziplines people haven't yet upgraded for the increased range. Unfortunate timing when it populated.
