Reddit, my CFO believes that a free market will correct any and all issues with the economy. What are your thoughts?

He was able to provide good sound reasoning as to why it would work. I on the other hand believe that only in a Utopian world would it be possible for a free market to correct the economy.

Does anybody has any thoughts as to why it would or would not work?
