ATI Radeon 5650 3D acceleration
I have the HP Envy 14 laptop and I'd like to get Fedora running on it acceptably. I was able to get the LiveCD to boot and install the distro if i used the simple graphics option (couldn't get it to boot at all with ubuntu), but after installing it I tried to follow instructions here: http://gofedora.com/how-to-install-ati-catalyst-fglrx-98-drivers-fedora-11/ to install the driver for my Radeon 5650. After restarting, however, iI was met with a blank screen. It didn't kill xorg and give me a text login, it was completely unresponsive. I'm going ot just reinstall it later today, but I was wondering if any of you know how to help me get the graphics up and running?
Ultimately, this laptop is supposed to support swichable graphics, but before I mess with that I want the other card to be usable. Thanks!
