Looking for a little advice, this is probably asked frequently

Meet Opie, he's a german shepard/lab that is 8 weeks old (http://imgur.com/elwu3.jpg) So cute :)

Anyhow, i was wondering if you all had some advice for teaching puppies how to stay in the kennel overnight/while I'm at class and leash training. I let him sleep in my bed last night because he whines whenever i leave him alone or in his kennel.
