When you compromise with evil...

The Democrats assured Americans that they would govern from the middle, seeking compromise with the Republicans. They spent the last two years passing legislation that took Republican's opinions into account. They dropped all mention of single payer universal health care. They didn't try to raise taxes on the rich. They gave the middle class more tax cuts instead of jobs. They let torturers walk free in the spirit of "moving forward." They failed to address gay rights because the right wouldn't like it. They continue to fund the stupid, failed wars because the right calls that "supporting the troops." They continued George Bush's policies of despicable treatment of people captured on the battlefields we created. In short, they threw out their own core issues in order to compromise with the far right.
