What's Your Best First Date?

(This is my first post and I hope I did this right)

I've been out of the dating scene for awhile due to lack of time, interest, and fear that I'll epically fail.

Last night I had what I would call "The Perfect first date".

I work downtown Toronto, so there's quite a bit to do which gives me an advantage for sure.

After getting her to meet me at work, we started walking aimlessly to find a small coffee place. Our luck paid off and we found a really cute espresso bar. We talked for an hour or so and I decided we should go somewhere else. We ended up at a small vintage store where we checked out hilariously old band tees (Usher etc.) and other retro swag. Following this (now getting dark), I take her to the top of the City Hall building. There's a garden that's illuminated by really cool lights and the buildings in the center glow a nice purple. Also, there's an amazing view of downtown from there as well. Following this, we decide to go for a drink. I take her to Jack Aster's (food chain), a few stories up overlooking the main part of downtown Toronto (Patio with an awesome view).

This is where luck plays in a bit.

We order a pitcher of Keiths (her choice not mine) and just start talking. Half way through, some random guy who definitely doesn't work there comes up to our table. He introduces himself and asks if we're on our first date (pretty awkward). We both timidly give the response, "erm.. uhh.. yea I guess?". He then tells us that it's his and his girlfriend's 1 year and his girlfriend thought we were a super cute couple. He buys us a round of shots (fellow redditor maybe?).

In return I decided to play a game. After he sits down, I order him and his girlfriend a round of shots and some for ourselves. He comes back and complains that he wants to make our first date and orders us another round of shots, refusing for me to do it again.

To put in short, this incident definitely lightened up mine and my date's mood to the point of uncontrollable laughter. Both our faith in humanity was restored a bit to see that someone is really just that nice.

Anyways, we keep talking, I walk her back home to her apartment. The mood seems right so I give her a goodbye kiss and start walking away. She grabs my arm, pulls me back and kisses me again.

I leave and take the subway back home with the biggest grin on my face.

TL;DR BEST FIRST DATE EVER

Edit: Girl decided we should hang out again today. We had a nice little trip to the dollar store for some stuff for her photography projects. Hung out at her place etc. Did a double date with her friends (mm wings and beer) Walked her back, said goodbye. Overall, twas a nice evening :) Date 2 plans pushed to date 3 plans haha

I know I keep saying this, but this community is amazing. Some of these stories are unbelievable. Thanks for sharing everyone, it made my day!
