"Neighborhood" style server idea

Let me know if this already exists, but what if we had an MC server created in a neighborhood style? It could be a network of similarly sized designated islands, each owned by a different redditor. Each user is free to create as they wish on their own island. It may also benefit to have a nearby public area for resource gathering.
