Prop 19 may have failed in California, but Massachusetts is showing some promise.

http://www.boston.com/news/special/politics/2010/ballot_questions/results/#Regulate%20marijuana

A decent number of towns had a question on their ballot to instruct their state representative to vote in favor of legislation to regulate and tax marijuana like alcohol. Of those towns, all (except one that hasn't reported yet) voted yes.

Now granted, that only covers 9 of the 160 state representatives, but every town with the question voted yes and the state, in 2008, voting to decriminalize possession of 1 ounce or less of marijuana 65% yes to 35% no... makes me think MA could make a move to legalize cannabis.

thoughts?

Edit: I took a map of MA and quickly colored in the towns that had the option to vote. I scaled it down a bit, because of size, so it's a little blurry, but it gives you an idea that support is coming from all different parts of MA. http://i.imgur.com/piway.jpg
