If I have a misdemeanor expunged do I have to report it on an application?
Backgorund: I received a misdemeanor for underage posession of alcohol when I was 20. Under North Carolina law I am able to get it expunged if I meet certain requirements (which I do).
Question: I am filling out an application that asks:
- HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ARRESTED FOR ANY VIOLATION OF ANY FEDERAL OR STATE LAW RELATING TO LIQUOR OR TOBACCO PRODUCTS?
- HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ARRESTED FOR VIOLATION OF ANY OTHER FEDERAL OR STATE LAW?
- HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CONVICTED OF ANY FELONY OR MISDEMEANOR UNDER FEDERAL OR STATE LAW?
Do I have to answer yes, even if the charge is expunged? (Yes I know I shouldn't take this as legal advise, but wondering if any lawyers, especially one in NC would know)
