Conclusion: Emotion is greater-than Reason.

That is the only conclusion I can come to Reddit, after seeing the election results this morning. The defeat of Prop 19, the loss of Russ Feingold, and about a dozen other bat-shit-crazy decisions voters made yesterday.

So, it seems that reason has lost it's value. People don't want to actually understand anything anymore. They don't want to look at what a tax increase or decrease really would mean for them vs. the programs they care about. People don't want to spend precious time understanding how really something like Prop. 19 could really help the economy, or what it's potential pit-falls may be.

Nope, lets just go with the gut. I am angry! Therefor every incumbent must go! Herp!

I don't know Reddit, but it seems that as long as we let our emotions get so easily swayed by the media, commercials and special interest groups we are going to be VERY easy to control. Emotion wins every time.

TL;DR: Emotion wins over reason almost every time, and therefor makes us very easy to control.

Edit: Why the downvotes? If you don't agree, discuss. If I didn't post this in the right reddit, please let me know.
