Republicans won the House of Reps, but...
There are some who regard our political system of being slightly out of shape, if not downright broken, but I heard a good idea on reddit yesterday as I was cruising the midterm results. What about a boycott?
Our elections seem so tied to capital, this election season was all a big republican investment. I heard from several sources that more was spent by some candidates than was spent during the last presidential election. Now how better to send a message that a seat in the house isnt a seat to serve the interests of representatives, but to serve the interests of the general public, than by tightening our purse strings.
So heres my question. What could you give up? and perhaps more importantly, who owns what you could give up? and most importantly; is there something you could give up for long enough that it might change the way people think about selling it?
A few suggestions from me
-
Never buy any food that you see a commercial for, I think this has been brought up by Pollan. Use food commercials as anti-ads. For that matter, try not to go to chain restaurants either.

Drive a little less, we all know the direct links between southern republicans and the oil extraction industry - for that matter, use less plastic as well.
Also, does anyone else think a general product boycott would do any good?
