Can you imagine what the world would be like if the Ten Commandments had been written differently?
If I'd been in charge, they would have gone something like this:
- Thou shalt think deeply on matters of import
- Tread lightly upon the earth, for it does not belong to you.
- Thou shalt put the happiness of others above riches and authority
- Honour the Sabbath by being creative
- Thou shalt talk long with thine enemies, before reaching for thine sword that your sword may yet remain untouched.
- Thou shalt be kind.
- Honour thy community that you may live well within it.
- Thou shall not harm thy neighbour, neither by theft, murder nor intolerance of their race, religion or standing.
- Thou shall never distort the truth so that you may gain from the confusion of others.
- Thou shall let others speak and be judged as you would speak and be judged.
Optional 11: Thou shall not put the freakin' punchline in the title of thine post.
