TIL reddit has an escape character

I've noticed a lot of people who have issues posting links from wikipedia because they include parenthesis '()'.

Well fear no more reddit! If you simply add a backslash (\) character it will nulify the functionality of the paren in the link

example
say I want to post a link to the MGMT congratulations wikipedia page,
Here's the link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congratulations_(album)

as you can see the brackets around the word 'album' would cause some issues. to remedy this paste the link in this format...

(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congratulations_\(album\))
