My Rally Story
This weekend I went up to DC for the big rally, I didn't know what to expect so I was just hoping to have a good time. Thanks to a very under prepared metro system, I got there a little late.
The insanely big crowd leaked out from the mall to all the neighboring streets, it took some pushing and shoving just to get within a quarter of a mile from the stage. It only got worse the closer you got. After attempts to slide past cops and climb trees the friend I was with and I decided to try something new; we retreated to a street running alongside the mall. Walking down it towards the stage we noticed a discreet sign that said "VIP ENTRANCE".
A crowd of people waited around hoping to catch a glimpse of anything really. We were doing the same, when a old bewildered looking lady walked out from the entrance, she had two of the passes around her neck. My friend simply asked for them and she took them off her neck and gave them to us! Totally surprised we pushed through the crowd towards a cop, who checked our passes and let us through. Not knowing where this was going we continued on until we reached a tent, in which guards with metal detectors patted us down. After exiting the other side of the tent we could hardly believe what we saw! A roped off path in front of the entire mall lead us front and center 5 feet from the stage. It was amazing as we caught the last hour from the best seats in the entire city. TL;DR - I GOT FREE VIP PASSES AT THE RALLY, WOO HOO!
