DAE get absolutely drained by elections?

I feel like I just gave birth. The past six months, the week before, the day of all building up this angst and anxiousness. Clinging to polls and articles, and rolling your eyes at twenty political ads a day. Seeing candidates who somehow manage to be even more psychotic than the last. Seeing utterly corrupt propositions gain momentum while basic freedoms gets ignored or even removed.

And then the big night ends, and you usually wake up the next morning to find your baby came out with no arms, because your partner decided arms are for communists and managed to chop them off while you were sleeping, and you'll have to wait two or four years before you have any chance of doing anything about it.....

Ugh.
