Viable Frost DPS or UH only option? (Death Knight Build Questions)

I'm primarily a tank DK, but for a 25 man that I was in, I was asked to go DPS - prior to 4.0.1, I was all about DW frost, but when I glyphed, gemmed, reforged, etc., I found that my DPS was seriously lacking. (Averaging about 8.5k dps on the high end, a little less than 5 on the low end - DWing heroic Gutbuster MH with RotFC and heroic Frost Giant's Cleaver with Razorice.) I was lucky enough to be able to get the bloods (and thus, Shadow's Edge) by the end of the night, but post raid, I was discussing how disappointed I was in guild with my DPS (my lock pulls 14k in ICC without batting an eyelash) and asked if frost was still viable: I was told that frost was still the highest, but 2h, not dw. So I took my happy ass to respec and headed out to the dummy? 4.5k DPS. Almost a full thousand less than dw.

So, my question is simple: is frost viable for DPS in any way, shape, or form? Or am I going to be forced to respec UH to max out my DPS?
