Rally to Restore Sanity - a sad attempt by democrats?

I firmly believe that Jon Liebowitz is directly participating in an attempt by Democratic leaders to rally their base; they saw how effective the tea party was, and sure enough, they wanted to start a "party" of their own to rally their dwindling base.

Who else, besides me, thinks that this rally is a direct request from the democratic leadership to provide a counter to the tea party success?
