I really need some good advice from an Electrical Engineer and/or Electrical Engineering student.

I am currently in my second year of college (4th semester) as a transfer to a SUNY school. I am interested in becoming a computer engineer but I am having a lot of difficulty with the intro course for electrical engineers. I have no previous experience formally studying electricity or circuits and my instructor is difficult to follow. On top of that, there is no prescribed reading for the class at all. I have a decent understanding of the basics, but I could learn better if I had a book to study while playing around with PSPICE and circuit boards. Is there any good advice or preferred reading recommendations out there for someone like me? Thanks in advance for your help.
