What internet speed are you paying for vs what you are actually getting?
While in my apartment I paid for 3Mbps and got about 3Mbps when ever I checked (speedtest.net & speakeasy.net) Didnt really need much more than that. I had the rental modem and a WRT Linksys G router.
When I moved into my new house I opted for the premium (30Mbps) package.
I purchased an Apple Time Capsule with Wireless N and a Motorola Modem ( http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/US-EN/Consumer-Product-and-Services/Cable-Modems-and-Gateways/SURFboard-Cable-Modem-SB6120-US-EN )
I am the only one on the cable tap on the road (new development) and will be for a long time.
Now... I am consistently getting 60 and 70+Mbps now!
All this morning it has been really peaking: http://i.imgur.com/vk9YV.jpg
