DAE just go to "peaceful" mode when entering the nether?

I got tired of being raped by 3 very angry Ghasts and decided, in order to get shit done, to just turn it to peaceful while in the nether. Especially since Ghasts fly so high that a bow & arrow are almost useless against them as well. BAH. The game is still amazing though.
