Does Fallout 1 and 2 have a widescreen patch that doesn't run extremely slow yet?

If not, what's the best resolution in terms of game performance / aesthetics? I've been wanting to replay, but it's difficult with either a good resolution that runs terribly, or a terrible resolution that runs as it should?

Win7 64bit / 1920x1080 resolution by the way.
