Feedback wanted for business idea: Have a site where amateur photographers w/ nice DSLR cameras can go to find local events they can take pictures of and submit to news agencies

like istockphoto, except for covering specific events.

idea in a nutshell: Have a site where amateur photographers w/ nice DSLR cameras can go to find local events they can take pictures of and submit to news agencies

The idea here is that lots of events that news organizations might want pictures from are already being attended by people with high-res, professional grade cameras. Just today i see friends of mine who are going to the SF giants parade with Canon 7d's and L glass.

Other ideas for events to cover -ie political rallies -press conferences -fairs & school events -movies premieres -trade shows

photographers can also submit their photo sets and tag them with an event -datetime -event name -event location (geocoded and plain text)

buyers can request a photographer to cover an event by creating an event with -datetime -event name -event location (geocoded and plain text) -after creating an event, buyers automatically see a list of photographers who can cover it on a map.
can search for this before hand as well

-can hire multiple photographers -can hire one photographer -can have it open and best one wins

subscriptions for photographers -add your location -add your camera gear -add alert radius -add event preferences -any new events posted in your radius will be sent to you.
