Just not sure where to go from here.
I posted the other day in r/self about an issue I am having with women.
So, I'm 25, got out of a long relationship about five months ago and have basically no idea what to do about getting back into the dating scene.
I'm a really confident guy; I'm usually the life of a party, always fun, always talking, always friendly. I lost about 50 pounds recently, and am looking a lot better than I used to. I'm really not ugly -- I'm well built and quite muscular. Some friends have told me that I could be a face model. As well, I have a soothing, calming, friendly voice that people typically love.
My problem: I always seem to fall into the friend zone and don't really seem to be able to pursue a relationship further than friendship.
My best friend is this cute little redhead girl (in here just to show that I did get a female's perspective) who knows me better than anyone else. I asked her what my problem seems to be and she replied that I don't come off as sexual whatsoever. This is problematic. I do have a strong libido, but just don't come off that way. Its a bit irritating.
Now, I'm supposed to meet a girl soon, set up by some friends. It will be in a social setting. I know she's single and apparently we have similar personalities. What I fear is that I'll immediately strike out. I always come off confidently. Always.
Can any one give some advice for this? I haven't had to date in years and I'm really quite rusty at it. This girl sounds really nice, and I just don't want to immediately be counted out. Can anyone help me out at all?
