Does anyone have suggestions for the best gaming rig components (mobo + video card + CPU) today?

I am looking to upgrade my gaming PC soon. I am looking for good performance for games like Battlefield 3 (when it releases), so smooth FPS performance is key.

I will build it myself, so I don't need a monitor, or other external hardware like that. My main emphasis will be getting a good video card, mobo, processor and memory. (The current system I am replacing: a phenom 9850 dual-core CPU (not overclocked), 8gb ram, and two 9800 gs SLI'd together, all on an ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard. I have to run BF:BC2 at the lowest settings to run at my monitor's native 1680x1050, currently.)

My budget is flexible, but I do not intend on buying bleeding edge components. The main goals will be performance + longevity.

Thanks for any hardware advice!
