I run the twitter at my company. I need help.

So I run that the twitter at my company and I have been charged with growing it. I want organic growth (i.e. not just adding randoms and/or adding spammers. This what they have been doing so far and believe me it makes it hard to manage real customers and our DM box due to this massive influx of spamming). If you have any ideas or tips that you've learned while doing something similar, if you could, please help.
