A poorly explained request to get a kind of blog functionality but for separate pages on separate topics. Without making a unique filter for each topic.
Hello Drupal redditors, been wrestling my Drupal into shape for a few months but I'm struggling with this;
What I've been trying to get is something similar to the front page but specific to whatever topic your currently viewing. First I'll try to explain what I'm after then I'll explain what I've tried to do to get this affect;
Say you have a list of subjects, I'll go to a subject page and it shows some of the latest posts on its view only relative to that subject. Too add more stuff under a subject you just create a story/calendar entry or whatever and it shows up automatically in the subjects page. Show up as a proper entry not just some list of news or rss feed.
Hopefully you've got a picture of what I'm after from that. Here's what I've tried to do. Modules: Views, CCK, Taxanomy, calendar, some gallery I cant remember but sucks atm anyway. I can make a view Block with a filter to only show that category/subject. But I have to make one for each subject and that's not really what I want to do. I've tried to use an argument to pass the category filter with no luck, either it cant be done or I can't get my head around it. I want just one block to add onto a categories landing page and it will know what content tags to filter onto that page.
I don't think I've been that clear, any questions? side note: anyone recommend a nice gallery? Simple bulk upload and automatically resize photos would be good.
