Congressional Term Limits for 2012! Come on reddit, Maybe we can!
U.S. Senate: Unlimited 6-Year Terms
U.S. House: Unlimited 2-Year Terms
In May 1995, the United States Supreme Court [23] 5-4 in U.S. Term Limits, Inc. v. Thornton, 514 U.S. 779 (1995) that states cannot impose term limits upon their federal Representatives or Senators.
Earlier that Spring, the U.S. Congress had given the Court assurance that the Justices would be acting only against state statutes, not overturning an act of Congress.
Defeated in Congress and overridden by the Supreme Court, this populist uprising was brought to a halt for the purpose of reforming the federal government
Term Limits were a huge issue in the 90s and it helped the Republicans take over Congress.
EDIT: NBC news Poll 92% in favor
What if we made an internet campaign, with the strength of Reddit, to bring this issue back onto the national stage? The country is supposedly fed up with incumbents, so why not get a movement for term limits on Congress?!?!?
We could get some people to infiltrate the Tea Party with this idea, get it on FOX News. That ought to give it some traction!
EDIT 2: Is everyone downvote happy today?.... Jesus.
