Sometimes I don't get my paycheck until a month later. What do I do?
I am a subcontractor for an IT consulting company who contracts me out to a school. I sometimes don't get my check for a month because my boss forgets. This has been happening regularly to me and the other subcontractors. Other gripes are that my boss is also supposed to cover our cell phone costs and gas costs but never does. I do not have health insurance and currently not under a contract. The school is increasingly trying to treat us like employees, but from what I have read, we can make our own schedules since we are contractors. I would love to be employee, but the school will never hire IT employees again. They do it so they save money by not giving us health insurance by hiring the company I work for. I have been doing this for 4 years, and wondering what I should do? Do I report my boss bite my tongue? EDIT: I have asked him multiple times about the checks and so have other subcontractors. Yes, I do work in the U.S.
