How long have you lived in Portland and why are you here?

I'm just curious. When did you all move here, from where, and why? Personally, I'm a native (which seems to be a rare breed - especially for those of us under 40). I live here because I was born here, and I just have no desire to move. It is kind of interesting to see the changes that time and a population growth has brought upon us. In the 80s, we were a small city, and now, well not so much anymore.
