My college educated friend just said to me, "Anything that involves America not being number 1 is un-American" and proceeded to call me "unpatriotic"....

We were discussing America as an economic global power. I said something along the lines of "we should not be worried about being the economic superpower anymore and focus more on the health and happiness of our citizens." Can I get some back up here??
