DAE think that we should extend the voting period to longer than only one day?

I understand there are many ways to vote if you cannot go on election day (i.e. absentee voting or early voting) but these seem ineffective seeing as only a minority percentage of eligible voters actually go out and vote. Apathy plays a large role, yes, but simple forgetfulness can also ruin someone's chances of having their voice heard.

FYI, I did vote yesterday so this does not really apply to me, but a few co-workers who are registered to vote in a town 3 hours away from their job (grad students) forgot to do so before coming into work. NO, it does not make them stupid or unworthy, simply forgetful and I'm sure if there was an extra official voting day, we might have a more accurate picture of the sentiments of the entire country as a whole.
