Let's have a homemade gift brainstorming session!

My plan for arbitrary day is to make an awesome general thing, and an awesome thing tailored to my giftee and then, finances permitting, also buy an awesome thing. Though, I say that, I don't know what general awesome thing to make. I paint and I sew and I cook (hot cocoa mix, anyone?), but I'd like to see what the awesome ideas bouncing around in everyone else's heads are before I embark on my craftin'. So, what are you guys making?
