I'm glad r/metal doesn't have the same issues as r/dubstep

So I went onto this subreddit and saw a post for Electric Wizard and farther down I saw another for White Wizard. I hadn't heard of either of them so it occurred to me to have a little "which one is better?" I have to admit that Electric Wizard is way more my style than White wizard, but then I realized something.

The comments of both posts are void of "This is not metal"-type posts. Both of these are accepted as some form of metal. I cringe when I wander into the r/dubstep threads looking for stuff and only read things like "This isn't dubstep. This is dubstep" that devolve into huge "fuck you" fests.

Metal has been around for much longer, and there have been "This isn't metal" discussions everywhere and everywhen, but this subreddit (in general) is way more open to the variations on subgenres. There are arguments and shit around here, but it isn't the norm.

What I'm trying to say is Thank You, r/metal, for embracing all things metal. Keep posting and I'll gladly keep listening.
