Its daytime and there are hella spiders around my base... am I missing something?

It has been 3 or 4 (game) days and they are still all around my hose along with the exploding guys. I thought they left during the day? Im pretty much bone dry on minerals now since I have mined till my last tool broke and I am out of wood. I have a sword but don't want to die and lose all my stuff.

TL;DR Badguys around base during day/night. Dont want to lose everything I have. How do I survive?
