Has anyone else watched the BBC series Survivors. I'm pretty sure Steven King ripped this off for The Stand, and it's much better.

The original series ran from 1975-1977. Steven King published The Stand in 1978. The remake of Survivors, which I'm watching now, started in 2008. The plot involves a super-flu that wipes out 90% of humanity, many of the scenes seem very similar. At first I was thinking this was a Brit rip-off of The Stand, but after checking the dates it looks like they beat Mr. King to it.

Figures.
