What depression feels like...
So I remember awhile back on reddit I saw a post talking about how people felt when they were depressed. I've suffered from depression for most of my life. This morning I was feeling pretty low and wrote this journal entry, I think it pretty much sums up how depression feels....
People always wonder what depression is like. It's like standing in place, unable to move, slowly dissolving into sand. There is a projector in front of you projecting a hologram of yourself in front of your real dissolving body. You can't move to turn it off, to let people see what is going on. Each grain falling off you represents a different part of you/something you like. People you love/care about walk around you and call you lazy for never moving and progressing. You want so badly to just reach over to turn off the projector but you no longer have arms and you're voice was the first thing to go. Eventually at some point you completely dissolve and the battery of the projector dies. People finally realize what has been going on all along. They cry and try to pick up the dust but it's too late. They try to even replace the battery of the projector, but it is irreplaceable.... I really feel like I'm dissolving right now.
