Why do some geese not fly south for the winter?
I work next to a pond that is populated by a lot of geese. For some reason, every winter only about 3/4 of them fly south. The rest just stay, and walk around on a frozen pond, looking very confused I might add. I thought it was instinct to fly south when it gets cold. So are they defying the laws of nature, or is this normal?
