Why does America still have a two party system? It doesn't seem to be working.

There may be an obvious answer to this, but I can't see it. Your elections seem to yo-yo, why not introduce more parties into the mix and see if they can maybe work for America? Tell me Reddit, is there any reason why only two parties ever seem to have power?
