Hell on Earth. Reasonably simple way of getting the Nether and Earth together on one map.
I have no idea if anybody has posted this yet, but if not, here you go!
I experimented a bit with my Minecraft saved files.
First: Back up EVERYTHING!!! I cannot stress this enough.
-
Visit the Nether in one of your Minecraft worlds. Make sure to move around a bit so that a bit more of the world is generated.
-
Exit the Nether and save your game.
-
Close Minecraft and open up your .\.minecraft\saves folder.
-
Create a new folder with the world number that you want (ex: World3).
-
Go into the WorldX folder that contains the Nether that you explored.
-
Inside of the folder is another folder called DIM-1. Open it and copy the contents of that folder into the empty World* folder you just created.
-
Open up Minecraft. In the spot for that saved game, go ahead and click - empty -.
-
The world will generate.
Nothing may look out of the ordinary. Turn around. A huge wall of "Nether" should be there. If you mine a bit into the Nether part of your world, you will eventually get to the center.
There won't be any Ghasts. Creepers and spiders will take their place instead.
** Let me know how this works for you. **
tl;dr: (Terrible tl;dr) Read the directions above, get the Nether in your newly generated map.
Edit: I've uploaded a few screenshots of this to Imgur. -> http://imgur.com/a/OxBXD
