Hey Reddit, I'm not so sure I can stay in college anymore.

This is my first semester of freshman year (throwaway account). I'm out of state, from the other side of the country. While I don't have too much trouble with philosophy or economics classes, my courses in Chemistry and Math are brutal on me. I can never focus enough to study on them (Reddit is a tool of procrastination, but not my only one by far) and I keep bombing the tests. As in 30-50% bombing.

I'm pretty sure I will get 3.0s or 3.5s in my other classes, but with these two I'm seeing the same troubles I had in High school in terms of focus and discipline. Some people tell me its not worth taking these classes if I can't do well in them, and I'm beginning to feel that if I can't handle these courses, I should just move back home and do something else with my life, maybe another college closer to home, maybe something else. I do have some areas I am strong in, such as writing and computer-related work. However, I am starting to think that if I can't focus and be in control of freshman math and chemistry courses, I will have these concentration issues for the rest of my time in school.

Sorry if this text is blocky at all, and I'll try to add more info if its asked for or if i think of something else thats relevant.

Update: I'm trying a few new things, its too late in this semester to change my classes or drop them without getting marks on my transcript, so I suppose the plan now is to change my next semesters schedule so that I take classes I can survive in and I actually like.
