Replace with "Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches"
I was having a discussion with a "friend" of mine about legalizing marijuana. I am for, and he is against. The things he was saying were pretty much the standard responses closed minded people think and say about things they don't understand.
Halfway through our discussion my mind started to wander and eventually started replacing words in his argument with other words, to make his sentences sound funny. I eventually replaced "Marijuana" with "Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches", and continued to use this alternative throughout our conversation.
I came to a realization that the conversation was just as inane with the substitution. I knew that people were "stupid" when it came to opposing marijuana, but this conversation really drove that knowledge home.
Next time you have a conversation with someone who opposes legalizing this victimless "crime", give "Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches" a shot. You may have a laugh.
