Getting the flu turned out to be a blessing in disguise
Last week, I had a respiratory illness. I knew smoking would only make it worse, so I had to quit. The next couple days, usually the hardest, this time around I felt so ill I didn't have any cravings. The three days of no cigs came and went! I am now feeling better, and still riding the wave of not smoking. I have picked up a tin of Camel Snus, and when I get a mad craving I slip in a pouch. The big test, getting drunk, I only used one pouch all night. For oral fixation, I've got some mint toothpicks.
The hardest part of quitting in the past has been the willpower. Having a direct reason to quit this time really helped.
