Are Dems to blame for losing the House?
I've been trying to figure out what happened; it seemed to me that with all the tea-party insanity that the Republicans would lose support, and yet they obviously did not.
So do the election results really reflect the majority opinion of Americans?
Or are so many Dems/Independents really feeling so disappointed in what has been done/not done in the last 2 years that they voted Republican instead? Totally forgetting the myriad of things that HAVE been accomplished? (http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/signed-legislation) And ignoring all the times Republicans have blocked bills just for the heck of it? (http://pleasecutthecrap.typepad.com/main/2010/10/more-bills-to-make-your-life-better-blocked-by-republican-filibusters.html#tp)
Or is it just a case of demographics? I know mid-term elections historically have a much smaller voter turnout that Presidential ones; so maybe it's mainly older people that turn out for these, which might explain it if you consider that a lot of Democrats are the younger generations...
So all you Democrat Redditors out there - did you vote? If not, why?
