Hey Reddit, how do you deal with rejection relating to something you are passionate about?
I am a writer, and I love to write. I am not the best and I admit it. I'm a huge science fiction/fantasy nerd. My University puts out a scifi/fantasy publication, and they published one of my stories in it. It felt really good. So I submit one this semester that was longer and I considered better than the first, and it was rejected. Now, I initially let it slide, because being rejected is being rejected. I will keep writing, and I won't let it phase me. It's only one thing. But the thing is it keeps bothering me and eating at me. It's something I love to do, and have passion about. But I have gnawing thoughts and feelings, and I feel worthless. Anybody else deal with this kind of thing? Am I just being a baby about it?
