There is a pretty cute girl infront of me... and I'm socially retarded.

I'm studying right now (read: programming) in my university's computer science (PSU main campus, IST bridge) and would love to strike up a conversation with this girl... but am 100% socially inept. Reddit, can you give me some sort of suggestions to get this going?

Don't just say "grow a pair". My issue is I'm pretty shy and not cute, so I get quickly casted as "creepy" even though all I might say is a simple "Hi".

Help!

Edit: I'm going to walk by and smile at her if we make eye contact. Chest puffed out, I'll try and be manly or at least nerdy.

Edit2: She was into her computer screen than we walking around, so no initial contact made. I'm working on plan B... Will post back within minutes.

Edit3: I called in nerd-reinforcement. Hopefully my friend will help me calm my nerves and do something about this.

FINAL EDIT: Reddit, I am disappointed in myself. I am overwhelmed with anger towards myself - I didn't talk to her simply because I was too intimidated by her looks and the fact she was cute and studying hard-core. You never see that here at PSU :-/

Anyways, I promise and will make a blood-pact with reddit: If I ever see this girl again, I will go out of my way to say hello. I will bleed into my computer until it fails if I don't follow through with this. Uhh... yeah. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions!
