The P90X Program advocates a high carb diet. What do you think?

I do weights three times a week - full body combinations - and have supplemented my work out with cardio from P90X (the plyo). As well, since I am working on my flexibility for pole dancing and acrobatics, I stretch extensively every day.

I am following a high protein/low carb diet. Most, if not all, my carbs come from vegetables. However, when I was looking through the nutrition manual for P90X out of interest, the second and third phase incorporates a lot more carbs. The third phase from memory only has 20% of daily intake coming from protein. Apparently this is for energy.

The question I have is - can you still perform high energy workouts on low carb/high protein diet?

And, what happens after the 90 days? What do you revert back to? How do you maintain the momentum P90X gives you?

As a side note - I am not looking to bulk up by any means. My current goals are to lose around 6- 10kg of weight and to become stronger. At the moment I am lagging behind in both pole and acrobatic work because I have weaker upper and core strength then the other participants. I have also set myself a goal of 5 pull up's as they are vital for pole but at the moment I can only do about 3, and thats with jumping up to the bar as well.
