wouldn't "Tinman" make a great StarTrek Movie?

It opens with the Enterprise pissing thru warp to pick up their mystery guest star, they get seven shades of plasma kicked out of them by the Romulans, and then they find a giant creature who lives in fucking space which they learn is orbiting a soon-to-be-nova star because it wants to die.

Make the guest star someone HUGE like Pacino or Streep or Cyrus and it makes the ensemble-cast issues which plague the movies much more easier to deal with.

The star going nova gives you a ticking clock, always nice. There is lots of action and destruction. The alien is quite cool (many maintream audiences would not have heard or seen a creature that actually lives in space). The story gives the entire ensemble cast something to do.
