I need some coconut oil advice, ladygirls! :)

Hello all!

Thanks to this lovely subreddit, I've discovered the magical powers of coconut oil, ooOoOo!

I've been rubbing it into my face, and my skin already looks more clear and feels softer. I even think my acne has calmed down! Kinda seems a bit counter-intuitive, but it works and I'm totally not going to jinx it!

Anyway, I've also been using it for my combination hair (super oil roots thanks to my Greekiness and dry/damaged ends thanks to my heat products!)

So, I can't quite figure out what I'm supposed to do. I normally co-wash (leave in conditioner when I shampoo, wash them out together, then condition again), but I figured that I'd have to shampoo the entire length of my hair to get the oil out.

After using the coconut oil, then shampooing and drying my hair, I was all poofy and dry. Then I tried shampooing just my scalp and letting the suds run down the length of my hair, then I rinsed really well a couple of times. After letting my hair dry, it was super soft BUT still pretty oilly.

Where is the happy medium? What's your advice, you terrific chicks, you!

TL;DR: I use coconut oil in my hair. When I shampoo it, it totally "undoes" the oil treatment and comes out dry and puffy. When I don't shampoo it, I'm still oily. Fix this, please!

PS: I really enjoyed meeting you guys at the rally. <33
