DAE have sound problems in Linux?

When I first start playing minecraft in ubuntu after a fresh reboot the sound is alright, but after long sessions it lags and its off by 5 or so seconds. Then after that it eventually quits working until I restart again.

Anyone else have this problem and know a solution?
I can't seem to figure out why it fucks up.
